Corley is a prolific songwriter with an ability to write in many genres. Fountainhead Pictures licensed “Once Again”, and “Don’t Make Me Choose” for feature film The Last Round with Actor William Davis (X-Files), released in 2005. Corley’s song “Over and Over Again” received Finalist in the Country category in the USA Songwriting Contest in 2004. The same song was published in 2004 by CURB Publishing as a contemporary country ballad. The song “In Our Hearts & On Our Knees”, cut by Cove Struck Music recording artist Carol Ponder, was released to 1300 radio stations worldwide in the Americana genre in March 2005.
A Chicago native and living in Nashville since 2001, Corley is self-taught on guitar and piano. Her song entitled “Yours for Me” won international recognition in the Christian category in the 1998 UNISONG International Songwriting Contest. Corley also has had many of her compositions ‘Feature Song’ on MP3.com in genres as jazz, bossa nova, new age, singer-songwriter, and Christian.
Corley performed in the USA Songwriting Showcase at the Bluebird Café in 2004, 2NMC Showcase in 2004, Folk Alliance Music Conference in 2003, Just Plain Folks National Tour in 2000, 2001, and 2002, and was an Indiegrrl Performing Artist. Endorsed by Ovation guitars, Corley performed in Oxygen’s NY City Tank Tour in the summer of 2000 as an Oxygen Artist, the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival in 2000 and 2001 along with other nationally known writers from all over the country, and the Nashville New Music Conference (2NMC) in 2001.
Corley’s was an opening artist for Janis Ian, Cosy Sheridan, and Americana artist Mary Gauthier, and has performed in various venues across the country such as New York’s famous Caffe Lena and Van Dyck Jazz Brewery, Philadelphia’s Tin Angel, the Flora-Bama, and is a regular since 2001 at Nashville’s world renown Bluebird Café.
A radio personality and columnist, Corley produced and hosted “Indie Music” and “Fabu Revue” WRPI 91.5 and WGY 810, and wrote a music column for a local newspaper in Upstate NY.
The radio show and column featured interviews and reviews of independent musicians and songwriters as well as regional and national artists such as Janis Ian, Michael and Kevin Bacon, Shelby Lynne, Kenny Rankin, Sara Brightman, and Julia Fordham.
Producer with Artist Singer-Songwriter Valerie DeLaCruz, of the Fabu All Girl Music Revue featured some of the top independent female singer songwriters in New York, Boston, and Nashville, Corley filled the house year after year at the world renown Caffe Lena’s in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Corley’s also been featured on NY’s Time Warner Cable “Sounding Board” television show, Schenectady Today Show, Clear Channel’s WGY radio 810, WHRL, and Benita Zahn’s “The Forum”.
